MOD is a film and television production company created in 2007 by Fernando Bovaira, who in his extensive professional career has been in charge of some of the most successful titles of our cinematography.
Films such as The Others, The Sea Inside (Oscar® for Best Foreign Language Film) by Alejandro Amenábar, Lucia and Sex, by Julio Medem or The Language of the Butterflies by José Luis Cuerda, are some of the titles that prefigured the imprint of quality and connection with the box office under which Mod would be born.
Thus, Mod inaugurates its production line with films such as Ágora, by Alejandro Amenábar -presented at the Cannes Film Festival and the highest-grossing film of the year- or Biutiful, by Alejandro G. Iñárritu -Best Actor Award at Cannes and nominated for an Oscar® as Best Foreign Language Film. Since then, he has continued to produce highly successful films among critics and audiences such as Caníbal, by Manuel Martín Cuenca, La gran familia española and Primos, both by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo; Phantom promotion, by Javier Ruiz Caldera or, more recently, I quit it whenever I want, by Carlos Therón, or While at war, by Alejandro Amenábar.
Mod's productions have also stood out on television, with series such as Crematorio, directed by Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo or El día de Mañana, directed by Mariano Barroso.
In 2021, he premieres La Hija, by Manuel Martín Cuenca, and La Fortuna, the first foray into television series by Alejandro Amenábar. His latest feature films are Full of grace, by Roberto Bueso, and La vida padre, by Joaquín Mazón, released in theaters in 2022.
